(Let’s shake things up a little bit. Shall we? Critique first! There were no overt bonus clues today. Yay! You’d have to know a variety of evergreen trees and popular idioms in order to solve toady’s Jumble. And, a lot of these idioms seem to be lost on so many of our younger generation. Fortunately, for those of you who are here looking for answers, I’m an old fart. Well, at least a middle aged fart. I had some trouble getting “fiasco” . . . again. It’s not new, but there’s something about that word that seems to trip me up. I had to back into it. And, that wasn’t easy, because at first I wasn’t seeing the answer, from the letters of the three words that I initially solved. I figured one of the answer words just had to be UP. Then I realized what the answer was going to be, and knew that I would need an “S” and an “I” for the third clue word. It looks like “upped” is new to the database, but the others were old favorites. All were well jumbled, and the answer letter layout gave nothing away. Nice cartoon, Jeff. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
