Answer: HE LOVED LUCY
(Beautiful tribute, guys! We all love I Love Lucy! All around – a great Jumble! Clue words were all well jumbled and challenging. “Howdy” is new to the jumble database. The answer letter layout gave away absolutely nothing. And, it’s a great cartoon! Besides this momentous occasion, 11/30 is also the birthday of Mark Twain and Winston Churchill, and it’s the death-day of Oscar Wilde! Just a few of the living celebrating birthdays today: Efrem Zimbalist Jr. is 93, Robert Guillaume is 84, Dick Clark – used to be a forever teenager, but it all caught up with him after his stroke – is 82, Ridley Scott is 74, Roger Glover is 66, David Mamet is 64, Mandy Patinkin is 59, and Billy Idol is 56! Happy birthday to them, and to all those I didn’t mention. Be well and do good, my friends.) — YUR

Ludite also works for the 4th word for 11/30 Jumble.
Ya know, Rick, I thought the exact same thing this morning! I thought: Wow, Hoyt has slipped in a jumble that results in two different words! And, both of them yield the needed letters. But, I had my doubts and went with the sure bet. A little later I did try to Google LUDITE, but nothing came up. The actual word, that both of us were thinking of, is spelled LUDDITE. 2 Ds, ya see? I just did a Bing search on LUDITE, and it did bring up two Urban Dictionary listings. One of them you could take at face value, but it’s slang for someone who’s addicted to qualudes. The other listing has the (accepted) definition of LUDDITE: someone who is averse to technology and/or technological change. They just spelled it wrong there. Urban Dictionary also has a similar listing with the correct spelling!
So, you and I were *close*, at catching Mr. Hoyt in a Jumble faux pas, but it looks like he’s still in the clear . . . for now.

Ah, LUDDITE! I learn something new every day! I think I am one to a certain extent. Anyway, HOWDY was my favorite because it is such a fun word. “I Love Lucy” was a great show, especially the candy assembly line episode! LOL LOL LOL
I’m a bit of one myself!
