Answer:  FLY NEW YORK JETS

(I thought that today’s was a pretty tough one.  And, I’m a Giant’s fan!  It didn’t even hit me, right away, that “jets” was going to be part of the answer.  Once I did, I thought that the other four letter word might be TAKE.  Of course that wasn’t possible with only one T available, and no A, but that didn’t hinder my delusion!  I was clever enough to see that “fly” was going to be part of it, but I couldn’t say if it was the first or second three letter word.  It wasn’t until I decided it had to be “fly” and “jets”, and then played around with the remaining letters.  But STILL, I looked at OYEWNKR and saw OWN.  But YERK was stupid!  Then I saw WORK, but then YEN and NEY made no sense.  DUH!!!  Lifelong New Yorker can’t see New York!  Oy vey!  Eventually, the light bulb came on.  I wouldn’t say I had to back in to any of the clue words, but I did stumble on “pelted”.  I started to write DEPLETE, but ran out of space.  With “renown” I doubted myself that the word didn’t need a K.  Dictionary settled that.  I knew I needed the S, and thought I needed the A – remember I was thinking TAKE – with the jumbled “pulsar”, but after deciding the word wasn’t going to end in A or S I finally came to the logical conclusion of “pulsar”.  But, by that time, I figured I’d better check its spelling in the dictionary.  Success!  For years – and years – the Jets – and their fans – were miffed about having to play in Giants Stadium.  That’s probably as good a reason as any for knocking down a perfectly good Giants Stadium and building the brand new Met-Life Stadium!  Ya know . . . just to be a real stinker, I’d bet that the New York Giants actually take a good number of New Jersey “jets”, out of Newark Liberty AirportThe team does just about everything in New Jersey!  Aay-yun-da, when they’re AWAY in Philly they probably go . . . by bus.  How ’bout dem Big Apples?!  Be well and do good, friends!)   —   YUR
