Clue/Question:  Dracula wanted to adopt the dog after realizing it was a . . .

(Nothing too special with the clue words, today.  Nothing ended in “ed”!  Decent scrambling and good job with the answer letter layout.  But, the whole cartoon made the answer pretty darn obvious.  It’ the equivalent of a kid’s riddle.  They can’t all be gems!  What would YOU say about today’s Jumble, gang?  Cubic zirconia, or cut glass?  I’m vlad all I have to do is solve them!  LOL!  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

Heh, there is nothing wrong with a cubic zirconia!!! I used to have one that everyone thought was a real diamond, but I lost it when I moved!! Got it at Macys in 2000 for my 15 year anniversary to late husband! However, there are levels for zirconias just like diamonds, and today’s puzzle was very easy so maybe a lower grade zirc. I could not for the life of me get RODEO. I even tried backing into it! Finally, after hours, I got it! Now, we have had this word before, and every time I miss it! So today’s puzzle wasn’t that easy for me in that respect. I do like VAMPIRES, though! Haaaa! Hey, YUR, do you have your costume ready yet?

You’re right, Lesley, we have seen RODEO before. But, I think David did a very good job of scrambling it in a different way than we might have seen in the past.

Hopefully, my “costume” will be a pair of size 34 pants!

I do like that the clues seem to tell a story:
    Rodeo, drink, bullet, hobble.
    Sounds like a typical Western.

Pretty funny, Ed! I doubt that Hoyt did it on purpose though. Either way, we may never know. He checks in fairly infrequently, and responds to question even less. Do today’s clue words *tell* you anything?

I just happened to be checking in today. That was an accident with the western words. No intentional western theme. Sorry I don’t check in as often as I should. I travel a ton on business. Last week I was in L.A. and the week before NYC and starting week after next I’ll be traveling on business for five weeks straight. I find that my days are flying by and it’s hard to get everything done. I’ll try to do a better job of checking in. I just happened to check in today to see if anyone had commented on the fact that RUNNING TEAM also fit. Of course RUNNING MATE is the more obvious, logical answer.

No obligation, cuz. Yeah, RUNNING TEAM fits, technically, but you kind of lose the *classic* double meaning that you get from RUNNING MATE. At least you’re racking up those frequent flyer miles, bro! Rest up while you can!
