Irish Penny

You’ll never plow a field by turning it over in your mind.”   —   Irish Proverb

(I love the imagery of this proverb.  I guess this is the Irish version of: “Just Do It!”  You think too long on something, and before you know it the opportunity has passed, or you plumb just run out of time.  It seems that all the best, most meaningful, quotations enter my brain, poke around for a bit, and then high-tail it outta there!  There must be a whole lot of scary crap in this old noggin of mine.  It’d be nice if something like this would hang around long enough to take root.  Peace out and word to your mutha!)   —   YUR

Jumble (Reprise?) Spoiler – 10/01/11

A pair of pears

Visual Description:   A pair of nearly identical echoes.

KNBLA  =  BLANK,  KNELA  =  ANKLE,  DTSUDE  =  DUSTED,  DTSODE  =  ODDEST   —   Giving us:  BAKLEUSTODE

Clue/Question:  The way they put this puzzle together will cause some . . .

Answer:  DOUBLE TAKES

(Very clever, guys!  Two sets of nearly identical scrambled clue words.  The first set allowed David to re-use “ankle” in just a few day’s time.  And, in the second set it made it that much harder, for me at least, to get “oddest”.  And, I like that Jeff has given each one of you a pear.  Not identical pears, because David’s is intact, while Jeff has taken a bite of his.  Nice job on the answer letter layout, too.  I think the diehards will appreciate today’s theme, as did I.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR
