Clue/Question: Their diving at Santa Monica beach created this.
Answer: “PIER“ PRESSURE
(Almost forgot the quotation marks! Nice scrambling of words that seemed tried and true, to yours truly. The answer letter layout was only so-so, today. Really only six separate letters to play with, so I know it ain’t easy. Throwing “Santa Monica” into the clue/question also made getting the answer pretty simple. They have one of the most famous piers in the world. I don’t think that too many will struggle to figure today’s puzzle out. Light and breezy! Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
I stumbled onto an anagram for the answer to this puzzle. From the circled letters, I extracted the word “surprise,” which fit nicely into the second word for the clue/answer. From remaining letters, I got “peer,” which fit into the first slot.
So came up with “Peer” Surprise as an initial answer before noticing that a slight rearrangement to Pier Pressure made more sense.
Kind of an interesting one today.
Keith,
I think you and Anonymous were taking hits off the same hookah! It most definitely does fit, but not really as the answer to the question. Your guy’s way would be a big stretch. But, I gotta hand it to both of you. I didn’t even see the word “surprise”. Then again, I wasn’t looking for it.
Peace,

Solution jumped right out at me! However, OPERA was 12 tries before I got it! WHY!? Well, you guys all know why! IT STARTS WITH A STINKIN’ VOWEL! I will calm down now! 🙂 I got lazy and backed into NEPHEW! P.S.-I’m still working on Sunday’s Puzzle, so I’m a little on edge!
