TSIHO = HOIST, XEIHL = HELIX, OSLSNE = LESSON, CEJOTB = OBJECT — Giving us: ISTHEISNCT
Clue/Question: This doctor’s patients often ended up . . .
Answer: IN STITCHES
(Great scrambling once again. It took me a couple of looks to get “lesson”, and I think “helix” may be new! I saw “hoist” and “object” immediately, but that doesn’t mean either word was obvious. The answer letter layout gave away nothing. Again, not the toughest answer to figure out, but part of that is due to the Jeff’s great cartoon. I wonder how many THOUSANDS of dollars the doctor and the hospital are going to bill for this procedure? Have you ever looked at the “This Is Not a Bill” statement from your insurance provider, after a doctor/hospital visit? The amounts the doctor/hospital bill for their services are ASTRONOMICAL! The insurance companies then state the *allowable* charge, and then your *copay/deductible* and *plan covers* % come into play, before they show you what you’re going to have to pay. It’s a very sick game that these people play, and a major reason why Obama should have shmoozed, cajoled and fought for either Single Payer coverage, or at least some kind of Public Option. What he settled for – all too easily – does absolutely NOTHING for the average American. If anything, it hurts the little guys, who are now forced to buy into a plan. That sounds like another win for the corporate insurance companies to me. The so-called Obama Care does nothing to reign in skyrocketing costs. The Health Care Insurance cartel is as strong as ever, and we are going to continue to pay for it. Sure, the obstructionist Republicans, with all of their hysterical scare tactics, were largely to blame, but Obama could have and SHOULD HAVE pulled off a deal that has some real meat to it. But, no. This is one of the many reasons why Liberals now consider Obama a closet Republican. Be well, my friends. These days, who can afford to be otherwise???) — YUR
