Visual Description: A relatively friendly, family competition.
BCNIA = CABIN, TKNUR = TRUNK, YSUIBL = BUSILY, SFONIU = FUSION — Giving us: CINTRUSIFSO
Clue/Question: He finished second at the family reunion race behind this.
Answer: HIS FIRST COUSIN
(Looks like Jeff is taking us back to the mid ’60s, with his King Family reference! I was never a big fan. A little too hokey for me, even at age 8. And, maybe because it replaced The Outer Limits. Now there was a TV show! I think the first time I saw that I nearly pee’d my pjs! Being 6 years old, I totally bought that they had taken over my television! Great Jumble! Nice scrambling of all the clue words, and the answer letter layout was superlative! It looks like Mr. Hoyt is taking this aspect of this job very seriously, and we are all benefiting from it. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. If you click on the pic, you get a bigger picture of the whole order of cousins. First, second, etc. and once removed, twice removed, etc. Nice to know. It can get kind of confusing. — YUR

No, wrong King Family. That would be “The World’s funniest comic/magician” * and good friend, Mac King, beating his cousin/cartoonist (and also a good friend) Bill King. Jumble Mac and Jumble Bill can be seen occasionally in the Jumble.

Got all of the words quickly today and didn’t have to even look at the circled letters to get the answer. Today is my 25th birthday, so I’m happy to see that I could do the jumble so easily. I must not be getting too old yet…. :o)
Happy Birthday, Angie!!! Too old??? At 25??? I’ve still got a 1986 Giants sweatshirt! You’re still just a baby, Angie.

I may be having a senior moment @ 71 .. however, the person coming in second is the uncle and his nephew won the race .. so first cousin is incorrect ..
do the Jumble puzzle each morning with coffee .. look forward to each of them.
No, Char. The onlookers are brother and sister, and the participants are each one of their sons, which makes the sack racers first cousins. Jeff just has the loser cousin (Bill King) as being a little more rotund than the winner (Mac King). Keep writing in though!

Happy B-day, Angie! FUSION did cause me some momentary CONFUSION, but I finally got it after writing out about 8 words. The ION part finally emerged! The original “Twilight Zone” scared the heck out of me also. My love for sci-fi began with that, and I continued to love scaring myself with “Invasion of the Body Snatchers,” “Creature from the Black Lagoon,” and “Godzilla” movies! The books “On the Beach” and “Canticle for Lebowitz” about the end of the world scared me the most! P.S.-Strange laws, but as I was researching places to marry in NJ 2 years ago, I discovered that you can actually marry your first cousin in NJ and NY state! No one believes me when I tell them! Today’s puzzle reminded me of that weird cousin law!
