Sunday Jumble Spoiler – 08/14/11

Some Kills

Visual Description:  A wife cat telling her sloppy husband to quit smoking.

BSUHMA  =  AMBUSH,  SLIYAE  =  EASILY,  SNUEFI  =  INFUSE,  LTEUTO  OUTLET,  CRINHU  =  URCHIN,  REONDY  =  YONDER   —   Giving us:  ABUEAIFETTRCHOR

Clue/Question:  The cat blamed his inability to quit smoking on the fact that he was a . . .

Answer:  CREATURE OF HABIT

(Wow!  a 15 letter answer.  That’s pretty big.  And, I didn’t think the layout of the answer letters gave anything away, which is always a positive, in my book.  The only two clue words I got without any effort were “easily” and “infuse”.  It’s funny because “infuse” isn’t really all that common a word.  They use it in shampoo commercials a lot.  But that’s about it, outside of medical and economic speak.  I think we’ve seen “urchin” before, but with different scrambling.  “Outlet” is kind of a double whammy.  It’s a compound word and it starts with a vowel.  I probably had the most trouble with “ambush” and “yonder”.  Just really good all-around scrambling today!  How’d all of youse guys do?)   —   YUR

Yonder took the longest for me. The rest I found pretty easy. The final big words were ridiculously hard. I Look forward to solving next weeks puzzle.

I have not done a puzzle this hard since I started the Jumble full-time a year ago! I wrote out over 20 different “words” for OUTLET until I finally asked my husband to give me the first letter from this blog. Didn’t I just say the other day that words starting with vowels were no longer problems for me? Duh! Puzzle solution would have taken me all day, and I need to clean my linen closet, so I cheated! CREATURE! Great word! Congrats to the boys because this was truly a challenge!

I got all the words without the help of my dad or mom. I just needed help electronically the the solution. It was a challenge this past Sunday’s Jumble. Love to do them daily!!

Ow! Got all the words, but got hung up on “at heart” as the possible 2 last words then went bonkers over trying to make an 8 letter word out of what was left. Ironically we solved outlet because if it were “at heart”, we would need both ts out of that unsolved word. Arrrrrgh.

Jumble has beaten us only 3 times in a year, and once, it was because we wrote the letters down wrong. We are hooked and were delighted to run across a Sunday version.

OK. Which one is scribbles and which one is clicks?
