(Boy, oh boy!  Is this ever the truth.  People, in general, seem so much more comfortable living with a palatable lie, than having to swallow the bitter truth.  I think it’s like what Col. Jessep says in the climactic scene from A Few Good Men:  “You can’t handle the truth!”  Very often the truth does hurt . . . a lot.  But, for the truly important things in life I just can’t see this blind acceptance of lies.)   —   YUR
