ITALIAN GENTS PLAYING BOCCE IN VILLA BRUNO

Visual Description:  An older couple playing Italian shuffleboard.

EGIFR  =  GRIEF,  LOKCC  =  CLOCK,  NKISLB  =  BLINKS,  ZLYLIA  =  LAZILY   —   Giving us:  GRILOBLNLAL

Clue/Question:  The Bocce player was anxious to start the match so he could get this.

Answer:  THE BALL ROLLING

(All the usual platitudes, guys.  Only ralis95 can tell us if we got any *new* words today.  Maybe “blinks”?  It’s hard for me to tell if this would be considered difficult.  I’m guessing it it took at least a little thought to get it.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

    YUR:

Both BLINKS and LAZILY are new. I got Blinks quite quickly, but Lazily stumped me. I “knew” the word Ball was in the answer, but without the last word solution, I had to turn to you for help. Thanks.

The two people in today’s Jumble are my parents Russ and Julie. Depending on the quality of your newspaper’s printing, you can see their name tags. They live in Palm Cay which you can also see a sign for in the background. My parents are so excited about today’s puzzle. They have already printed it out and put it in the Palm Cay club house for everyone to see.

Good grief! I couldn’t get “grief” for the life of me. I got all the others instantly, without having to even think about them.

You should have some sort of contest or drawing where the winner gets to be drawn by Jeff for a future Jumble!

    @ David,

My newspaper is actually pretty good, but I’m kind of hard-pressed to read the name tags. Because you pointed it out, I can barely make out “Julie”, and at least I can imagine “Russ”. Nice for the ‘rents!

    @ Amy,

Looks like we all *see* things a little differently.

That was great that David put his parents in the puzzle! I love that kind of stuff! LAZILY was a bit tricky, but with help of hubby who never even looked at puzzle, as usual, he shouted out LAZY, and I just added the LY. As for the solution, he got BALL and I finally got ROLLING! Puzzle was just challenging enough for me! Enjoy the sunshine for July 4th weekend, everybody!
