Clue/Question: The game between the flamingos and the geese was a disaster because of these.
Answer: TOO MANY “FOWLS“
(For about half a minute I thought the answer was going to be tough to get. 12 answer letters is a lot for a weekday jumble, but when you spread it out over 3 words it’s not too bad. The quotation marks were probably the biggest clue. Everything was scrambled nicely, but the only word that really made me think was “oddest”. The drawing was fun. I really liked the – boo? – birds, in the stands, and of course the penguin referee. There used to be a diner, near my old job, called The Flamingo. We always referred to it as The Flaming O! It’s very hard for me to get interested in either the NBA, or NHL, Finals anymore. The seasons are just WAY too long, now. I don’t have a horse in either of the races, although I do have my preferences. And, we are already one third of the way through the baseball season! Basketball? Hockey?? Gimme a break! It’s 96 degrees outside! It’s nearly as bad with the overlap of the football and baseball seasons. But, I guess it’s a little more tolerable because each team in football plays only once a week. Personally, I blame the greed of the owners, and television. Pro sports broadcasting is just SO lucrative. We, the “consumers”, are ultimately the ones paying for it all . . . in a variety of ways.
