“There are no lines in nature, only areas of color, one against another.” — Edouard Manet
(Ah! The “true” Father – or maybe Godfather(?) – of Impressionism. Monet was indirectly responsible for the naming of the new art movement, with his painting titled: Impression. A critic thought he was delivering a clever insult by calling Monet an “impressionist”. But, it was Manet who helped painters break free from the linear constraints of Realism, with his looser brush strokes and sketch-like approach to painting.) — YUR
