“Every baby born into the world is a finer one than the last.” — Charles Dickens
(From the standpoint of the parents maybe. But, from the viewpoint of socially conscious stewards of a planet, that has been said to be on the brink, an argument to the contrary could just as easily be made. During Dickens’ heyday, the mid – later 19th Century, the world’s human population was about 1.4 Billion. Today it stands at over 6.9 Billion, and counting! It took the world roughly 11,870 years to get to 1.4 Billion, but in a little over 140 years we’ve added another 5.5 Billion. If this doesn’t disturb you – even just a little bit – then have an EEG run . . . you might be brain dead.) — YUR
