“Absence from whom we love is worse than death, and frustrates hope severer than despair.” — William Cowper
(Severer doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. Now does it? It’s one of those adjectives that would sound better as more severe, but . . . it is what it is. When this guy was a small boy, do you think the other kids called him Billy Bovine? Or, maybe Billy Cowpie?) — YUR
PS. Guys. I know it’s a nearly closing time, but don’t buy this lady a drink. I’m pretty sure she could out-crazy Alex Forrest from Fatal Attraction! — YUR
I like the quote! It made me think! Very true! Severer? Should be more severe! I’m sure Cowper had lots of nicknames, but that builds character! As for the woman…well…she looks like she got caught up in a storm of some kind…physical and emotional, I bet! HA!
Definitely NOT worth the trouble!
