“I heard the bullets whistle, and believe me, there is something charming in the sound.” — George Washington
(Great, George. Way to *romanticize* war. Of course, back in those days, the velocity, range and accuracy of muskets and pistols was pretty primitive, but they still could, and did, kill. I wonder if Francis Ford Coppola and John Milius had this in mind when, writing Apocalypse Now, they came up with the now famous lines: “I love the smell of napalm in the morning. yada, yada, yada The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like . . . victory.” There are just SO many other charming sounds in this world, George.
Happy Mother’s Day! Be good to, and give praise to all the wonderful motherly women in your lives.) — YUR
