He who trims himself to suit everyone will soon whittle himself away.”   —   Raymond Hull

(This is the main reason why I was not able to accommodate the Lt. Col., the other day.  As Sammy Davis Jr. used to sing:  I’ve gotta be me!)   —   YUR

NUYGO  =  YOUNG,  TULIG  =  GUILT,  NCDEHR  =  DRENCH,  AFLNEL  =  FALLEN   —   Giving us:  YOGILTDHFA

Clue/Question:  His view from the hot-air balloon looked better in this.

Answer:  THE LIGHT OF DAY

(I’m only guessing that the quotation marks around LIGHT are because those balloons are said to be lighter than air.  Otherwise, they make no sense whatsoever.  Great clue words, today!  I’m getting too old to get “young”, but I also have no shame – so “guilt” came to me right away.  “Drench” is a great word, but I got it right away, too.  I tried to make flannel out of “fallen” until I realized there was only one N.  The scrambling of both the clue words and the answer letters  has become top-notch!  Nothing for yer Uncle to complain about!  Nice work, guys.  Be well and do good, friends.)   —   YUR

There is nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.”   —   Red Smith

(I guess it just must be easier for some people to bleed!  I must have molasses in my veins!  Sorry about the delay in posting this spoiler.  I had a very full day yesterday, and had to run after posting the Sunday Jumble Spoiler.  I have THE world’s MOST beautiful grandchildren.  And, we were fortunate enough to spend time with two of them yesterday.  They all live SO far away, so it’s a big treat seeing them.)   —   YUR

PS.  Why Fly fishing from a dinghy???  Why not?
