Clue/Question: What the new drummer said to the guy he was replacing
Answer: BEAT IT
(After the long holiday weekend, the guys have decided to take it easy on us. I’m thinking they gave us some new clue words to play with, though. ralis95? Nice likeness of the boys, Jeff! Even the instruments and the backdrop – Cavern Club – lend it an air of authenticity. Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR

Clue/Question: True compensation for everything they did is impossible, but we can . . .
Answer: PAY RESPECT
(A very nice tribute on this solemn day of remembrance, guys. For all who served our country you have our deepest admiration. For all who gave their lives in service to our country you have our undying gratitude. Soldiers don’t start wars. Our so-called leaders do. Peace.) — YUR
“Swearing was invented as a compromise between running away and fighting.” — Finley Peter Dunne

(A lot of nice challenging clue words, today! The answer letters were very well scrambled, too. WILCO, Jeff? Gotta run off to a housewarming Memorial Day barbeque. It’s gonna be another hot and steamy one today. Enjoy the day, and the long Memorial Day weekend, friends. Be well and do good.) — YUR

EGWDE = WEDGE, DUIFL = FLUID, RFETRE = FERRET, ABNTYO = BOTANY — Giving us: EDLIRRBAY
Clue/Question: The first goose to arrive in Florida for the winter was one.
Answer: AN EARLY BIRD
(Well, they always say traveling off-peak and out-of-season IS much cheaper! So, maybe he(?) is not such a silly goose, after all. The first 3 clue words were fairly simple. Especially, after I figured out I needed 2 “T”s for fetter, and arrived at “ferret”. “Botany” was a little more challenging. Good scrambling all around. Be well, friends.) — YUR
“Golf seems to be an arduous way to go for a walk. I prefer to take the dogs out.” — Princess Anne
(Some innovative, progressive-minded golf course owner should come up with a promotion to combine the two activities. Maybe just a one day a week thing, maybe more. Think of it! Health benefits: for the dogs, and for the fat asses who might normally take a golf cart. Ever changing, impromptu “hazards”. A little extra work for the groundskeepers and the caddies. And, a generous supply of organic fertilizer! I think even George Carlin might approve of this arrangement. Remember where you heard it first, folks!) — YUR
Visual Description: Rude dude being booed, for fouling the food mood.
OGCHU = COUGH, ESLSB = BLESS, CETEDN = DECENT, DTUERG = TRUDGE — Giving us: COESDTTRE
Clue/Question: He got in trouble for smoking because of all the . . .
Answer: DETECTORS
(Boy, does this one ever seem familiar! Not necessarily the clue words, but the cartoon. I’m pretty sure we had a similar one a month or so ago. I had some trouble getting “trudge”, but at least I didn’t have to back into it today! And, that’s good because I probably couldn’t have gotten the answer without those last three letters. Doesn’t “ogchu” sound more like a sneeze than a “cough”? I hate smoking. Especially around food. But, I think some of today’s anti-smoking legislation just goes WAY too far. I don’t have a lot of sympathy for smokers, but I don’t think it’s right to legislate them as pariahs either. It’s become a state sponsored obsession. It’s nearly as bad as the hysteria over “terrorism” and “security”. Why can’t cooler heads prevail? Be good is for dogs and children. Questioning things keeps your brain in working order. Sound mind, sound body. Be well, friends.) — YUR
PS. I didn’t like any of the smoker/anti-smoking pictures, so I’m giving you this lovely lady from a bygone era. — YUR
