Clue/Question: When the ship carrying tires started sinking it . . .
Answer: TREADED WATER
(Not bad. No difficult clue words. Decent all around scrambling. Moderately challenging puzzle. WordPress did not recognize “treaded” as a verb tense . . . but dat ain’t my problem. From the searches, so far, I don’t think this one is going to win any prizes. We were treated to a few tougher ones about a week ago, but since then they’ve all been kind of so-so. Tougher ones are bound to cycle through . . . eventually.) — YUR
Easy one all around today! I felt smart! Late scrambling for me because of seal drama on Bay Head Beach, NJ. Hurt seal made its way up the beach out of the water almost right in front of me, but I didn’t notice for 15 minutes! Marine bio people were called, and I finally had to leave for home. I have no excuse for not seeing it…I wasn’t even doing the Jumble!
So, you went off script yesterday. I hope the marine biologists were able to save/help the poor critter! Sometimes these strange diversions can have a big impact on one’s life. We get so caught up in our routines, and then one day . . . BAM! You’re smack in the middle of a life or death situation, with something you don’t see every day. These are the kind of things we can/should learn from. You shouldn’t have to be overly analytical about it, but it should bring about some kind new understanding or awareness.
