Answer:  NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK

(This is a CLASSIC Sunday Jumble!  None of the clue words were gimmes.  14 answer letters to make 2 nice size words.  Great pun/turn of a popular saying.  And, a great cartoon.  Everything that we look for in a Sunday Jumble!  And, I’m beating the buzzer by a good 4 hours!  Oh, well.  Tomorrow is another Sunday Jumble!)   — YUR

EPEIC  =  PIECE s/b: PIECE,  THUTR  =  TRUTH,  ARILAD  =  RADIAL,  TONOCY  =  TYCOON   —   Giving us:  IETTHADILTO (s/b: EETTHADILTO)

Clue/Question:  What the math teacher did when he wrecked his car.

Answer:  HE TOTALED IT

(Very nice.  I actually had to work a little to get “radial” and “tycoon”.  Good scrambling of both the clue words and the answer letters.  You didn’t have to be a genius to figure out the answer, but it made for a pleasant little puzzle.  If you get the full sized Jumble – and not the reduced one that some papers carry, which I hate – you might have caught the “bonus clue”.  I didn’t notice it until after I was finished, but the personalized license plate of the wrecked car reads: “ADD MAN”.  That goes very well with a basic math teacher, who can quickly assess the extent of all the physical damages to his vehicle.  Later on, today, I’ll be posting Sunday the 13th’s spoilers.  Then I will post a composite of the days that missed while on vacation.  I’m doing them in order, like the good little puzzle solver that I am.  There’s no satisfaction in cheating.  Be good, do good, folks.)   — YUR
