“When there is pain, there are no words. All pain is the same.” — Toni Morrison
(Nonsense, Toni! There are plenty of words. Ouch, ooch, eech and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh come immediately to mind. Then, of course, there is Son of a bi . . . and a whole slew of nasty curse words that my teacher readers can’t share with their students.) — YUR

Haaaa! I only swore 3X in 33 years of teaching middle school. That’s only once a decade! Not bad! #1-Student/Teacher basketball game when a kid stole the ball from me. #2-A flea jumped off a kid and crawled up my sweater sleeve. #3-One of the worst kids that ever came through our school gave me a hard time, and I said that I didn’t give a (blank) about his issue. P.S. It was the same “s” word. Now all these happened between 1978 and 1984ish. None of these were directed at the kids, and they all apologized to ME! Words slip out…now and again…after all we are only human!
