Answer:  IT WAS A “STAND“

(I love the pun!  The clue words were fun.  Not all that challenging, but fun.  Switching the order of “drawl” and “basis” would’ve made the scrambling of the answer letters a little tougher/better.  As it is, “WAS” definitely “STAND”s out.  Pay attention to those little details, guys!  What part of “Listen to your uncle!” don’t you get?  LOL!  Be good, do good, friends.)   — YUR
