Visual Description:  Typical debate.  Short on substance and specifics.

POCAN  =  CAPON,  GLIYN  =  LYING,  HOKOUN  =  UNHOOK,  NIRFIM  =  INFIRM   —   Giving us:  PONYIUOOINR

Clue/Question:   This comes out during a debate.

Answer:  YOUR OPINION

(Top-notch scrambling, from the clue words to the answer letters!  One of the few times where vowels outnumber the consonants.  Especially if you go with the: and sometimes Y.  Not quite sure what they were going for with whatever that is kinda hanging above the moderator.  Any guesses?)   — YUR

Cryptoquote Spoiler – 02/12/11

Hitchcock-PD

Television has brought back murder into the home — where it belongs.”   — Alfred Hitchcock

(What a great, wry sense of humor.  I was a little young for the “Golden Age of Television“, but I’ve seen plenty of re-runs of Alfred Hitchcock Presents and, of course The Twilight Zone.  Great stuff!  That might be partly why I like the series of Geico commercials, where the overly serious guy introduces the scenarios – a la Rod Serling.  The guy is good.  He’s kind of a cross between Serling and David Boreanaz.  I especially like the one where he questions:  Was Abe Lincoln honest? To me, that commercial is pure genius!  Just about all the Geico commercials work for me, on some level.  The talking gecko and his kinda dim boss, the mortified cavemen, and especially the Serling-esque introduced ones.  But, I don’t care for the two to tango one.  It just comes off as kind of awkward.  Oh.  By the way, this is the first Hitchcock quote since I’ve been posting the cryptoquote spoilers.  Glad it was vintage Hitchcock.  Do good, friends.)   — YUR
