“Ethics, too, are nothing but reverence for life.” — Albert Schweitzer
(The mighty, mighty Boone dog passed away quietly this morning. The rascally “pup”, who was once greased lightning, has now gone still. Somewhere in the ethers there’s a brown, black and white blur of fur laughing and taunting: Catch me, if you can! Rest in peace, old friend.) — YUR
So sorry to hear about Boone dog. I lost my little girl almost a year ago now – Feb 14/10. Leaves a gap in one’s life – but they give so much pleasure while we have them.
Hope your ankle/leg is healing ! You’ve had a tough time of it lately! Let’s hope the rest of 2011 will be better for you!
Thanks, MerSue!
Fortunately, we still have Ginger, our big beautiful, lovable Golden. I used to tell people that she was Boone’s *trophy wife*. She’s going to miss her *boyfriend* though.
From Christmas day on I’ve been having it rough! That’s when Ginger blew out her other knee. She blew out one a year and 1/2 ago. I’ve always said I’d never shell out big bucks for a pedigree dog (Boone was a mutt), but with these two surgeries I’m in the hole for $6K. Then I break my leg and sprain my ankle. And now, our dear old faithful pal has died. I could use some kind of a break from this string of bad luck.
Oh, well. Life goes on.
