(So, is it OK to speak poorly and be wrong??? Was Sophocles’ assumption that only those who speak well would be listened to? In times when intellect is valued over charisma, literate speakers are taken more seriously. Other times the masses seem to turn a deaf ear to well spoken rationale, in favor of – the more plain spoken – being told what they think they want to hear.) — YUR
