THERB  =  BERTH, TOBAB  =  ABBOT,  RADACE  =  ARCADE,  TRAULB  =  BRUTAL —   Giving us:  BHBBAAEBTL

Clue/Question:  This can be relaxing after a hard day at the office.

Answer:  A BABBLE BATH

(My paper didn’t have quotation marks, so I added them myself.   Nice clue words.  I had some trouble getting “brutal”, which is ironic because shoveling snow today was brutal.  That’s why this is so late.  I never got an actual newspaper, and I shoveled pretty much all day long, with just a couple of breaks.  I finally was able to log on to the online version.  Be good, guys.)   — YUR

Freedom Tower construction in February 2009

Image via Wikipedia

Visual Description:  Skyscraper construction workers taking great pride in their work!

DEVEL  =  DELVE,  CHITK  =  THICK,  EMBACE  =  BECAME,  YODMEB  =  EMBODY —   Giving us:  DETHEAMEBY

Clue/Question:  What the iron workers did when they built the tower.

Answer:  THEY BEAMED

(Nice word play, a couple of good clue words, and moderately good scrambling of the answer letters.  Isn’t it nice to see that they are – finally – making great progress in erecting the “Freedom Tower“?  All that haggling and feet shuffling that went on – for far too long –  was such an embarrassment to the city of New York, and the country as a whole.  A hole in the ground is not a suitable landmark/tourist attraction for such a great city.  And, to me, it laid as the biggest insult to the memories of all who perished there.  Special interest groups and bureaucrats held things up for so long that it almost seemed as though the terrorist had won.  Once it is completed maybe America will start to feel like America again.

Last two days to get your Christmas shopping done!  Yer uncle is still behind that eight ball!  Be good, do good, friends!)   — YUR

NEVAK  =  KNAVE,  NISEG  =  SINGE,  CUPHIC  =  HICCUP,  HECREY  =  CHEERY   —   Giving us:  NAESNGICCCHE

Clue/Question:  An Autumn walk in the park can lead to this.

Answer:  SCENIC “CHANGE”

(Pretty easy clue words, today!  But, nice scrambling of the answer letters, and a nice little play on words.  It probably s/b “A” SCENIC “CHANGE”, but when the guys are pressed for space they seem to let those things slide.  Today’s answer is courtesy of my darling daughter!  When she’s home – and awake – and in the mood, I allow her to do the jumble.  She hits me when I try to help her.  Do good, friends.)   — YUR

(Wow!  Lots of ice cream pics to choose from!)
