Clue/Question:  What the iron workers did when they built the tower.

Answer:  THEY “BEAMED“

(Nice word play, a couple of good clue words, and moderately good scrambling of the answer letters.  Isn’t it nice to see that they are – finally – making great progress in erecting the “Freedom Tower“?  All that haggling and feet shuffling that went on – for far too long –  was such an embarrassment to the city of New York, and the country as a whole.  A hole in the ground is not a suitable landmark/tourist attraction for such a great city.  And, to me, it laid as the biggest insult to the memories of all who perished there.  Special interest groups and bureaucrats held things up for so long that it almost seemed as though the terrorist had won.  Once it is completed maybe America will start to feel like America again.
