Jumble Spoiler – 12/21/10

Winter Solstice (2)

Visual Description:  Nurserymen enjoying their lunch break.

TIFED  =  FETID,  YEVAH  =  HEAVY,  YORCAN  =  CRAYON,  PIGNUM  =  IMPUGN   —   Giving us:  TDHEYNIUG

Clue/Question:  What the tree planters did at mealtime.

Answer:  THEY “DUG” IN

(Some really great clue words, today!  Both “fetid” and “impugn” are top shelf words!  And, the scrambling of “heavy” and “crayon” made those two ordinary words a bit of a challenge.  The answer itself was pretty easy.  At least for us Yanks.  I don’t know if the Brits say “dig in” like we do?  Happy Winter Solstice, everybody!  Did you get a look at that moon this (early) morning?  It was HUMONGOUS! I didn’t get up early enough to see the eclipse though.  Chances are it was too overcast for me to get a good look anyway.  Do good, friends.)   — YUR

Greeting card with text "for ariel" ...

A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost.”   — Marion C. Garretty

(Another Hallmark greeting card writer???  Actually, I can relate to this one.  But then again, can’t you say the same thing about a brother?  I’d like to think that I’m a little bit of my sister’s childhood that will never be lost.  Especially, since she only has me and my brother.  By the way, this is another author I’d never heard of before.  I had to get the first letter, and the last letter, of her last name by process of elimination and deductive reasoning.  This looks like a greeting card for a sister, right?)   — YUR
