Visual Description: A very unhappy couple at a counseling session.
TYPIE = PIETY, ICCUB = CUBIC, SLOMBY = SYMBOL, TOEGEA = GOATEE — Giving us: ITCBMBLOAE
Clue/Question: What the couple got when they weren’t compatible.
Answer: COMBATIBLE
(Purists will argue that the answer is not an actual word, but the answer is always where the fun comes in. Word PLAY is the name of the game, folks. “Symbol” gave me a little trouble. Great scrambling of the answer letters. All around, a very good jumble puzzle. The marriage counselor looks a little like Dr. Phil, don’t you think?) — YUR
PS. Why the dog? It’s what was provided to me. It is a nice dog! — YUR
how do you know your answer is correct since ‘combatible’ is
not an actual word? seems to me one could waste a lot of
time trying to come up with a ‘real’ word. quite a stretch to
compliment the puzzle maker on this one.
You must be one o’ them thar purists, rick! I don’t “know” anything. Not for sure, that is. I post the answers that I get. I’m always open for correction. What I DO *understand* about the jumbles is that the clue words are going to be actual words, but the answers will often be some form of a pun/composite/word-play. There will always be some kind of logic to it – even if we all don’t quite get it – and it will have an element of humor to it. In this case they’ve merged *combative* with *compatible* to make “combatible”. You have to allow for a little playful imagination, dear boy.
R yew here t’ “refudiate” mah answer, rick?

I always do my jumbles, then come on here to check my answers(and read what YUR has to say…) I also came up with “combatible”. Hope we’re right
