Visual Description: A happy couple, preparing to join in wedlock.
FLECT = CLEFT, CEMIN = MINCE, INJOUR = JUNIOR, ORMOAN = MAROON — Giving us: ETINUORAN
Clue/Question: What it costs to get hitched.
Answer: THE “UNION“ RATE
(VERY nice word play, here today! I bet this one gave a lot of you guys fits! I had some trouble with “junior”. A little less with “maroon”. I remember my dad having a maroon car. Don’t ask me the make/model. Anyway. Superior scrambling of the answer letters. It took some thought to get today’s answer. Any time there are more vowels than consonants I get a little thrown. I was looking at the word *rite* for a while. Then I went to “rate”, and then “union” fell into place . . . and made sense! Great way to close out the week, and welcome the Labor Day weekend! Enjoy it, and be safe, people. Be good, do good!) — YUR

Ah! A new word – “junior” – that hasn’t been seen in the 8 years I’ve been maintaining the Jumbles database. As you say, the solution caused me fits (and I’m sure, others as well). Got all the words unscrambled without the decoder, but couldn’t figure the answer out. Thanks for solving it. Well, back to script writing. What character do you want to play?

Too soon to tell, Bob. I was thinking maybe Capt. Morgan, depending on his age. I’d have to work on my British accent, though. Maybe Colonel Lester would be a better fit. S/B someone between 39 and 50 . . . or so.
I’m thinkin’ dad’s maroon car might’ve been a Mercury. I know it had tail fins!

I had MAROON configured as ROMANO as in cheese and spent far too long trying to work the solution with two o’s replacing a and n. Thanks for the help!
