YUR: There was a Swiss poet and writer of that name born in 1792 who died in 1870. Produced about 20 volumes of prose and verse. Also founder of a large Swiss newspaper. Could be the same guy.
It looks like ralis95 is one smart cookie! The last name should have given me a clue that he probably didn’t (originally, at least) go by “John”. Thanks to ralis95 I found: Jean-Antoine Petit-Senn, 1792 – 1870, a poet of French-Swiss origin.
Sometimes you have to put a little less info into these search engines to get the desired results.
