(Tricky) Jumble Spoiler – 03/01/10

Visual Description:  A few generations enjoying their shore house.

EDGUF  =  FUDGE,  RENIL  =  LINER,  YONNEA  =  ANYONE,  NIGLAC  =  LACING —   Giving us:  DGLRANECIG

Clue/Question:  What it takes to research a family’s roots.

Answer:  A “_ _ _ _”  _ _ _ _ _ _ ***CLAN DIGGER

(This took me a while to get.  And, I have the feeling this might be tough for many to get.  It’s a pun/play on words.  It helps if you’ve ever stayed at a house on a beach, or bay.  The big hint is what the girl and the guy in the hat are doing, in relation to the clue/question.  I’ll get back to you later with the answer.  Of course, fellow smart alecks are more than welcome to chime in!) —   YUR

*** (It looks like Amy wins by a nose over dsp, with submitting the correct answer first!  10 of you answered correctly in a little over 2 hours time!  Very good, guys.  I’m proud of you.  Even Chucker, who said it took him 1 minute.  He must live on Lon Gisland, or something.) ;~) YUR

I thought of the answer, but I came up with “anglic” instead of “lacing”, so the letters didn’t jibe… Thanks for the assist!

    What about “Clan” Digger?

  8. 8 Chucker March 1, 2010 at 11:53 am

It’s “CLAN” DIGGER. This one took me a minute.

Yeah, odd one. The second word was easy to get, it was the first that made me doubt it. But the “play of words” on the “shell fish” makes sense.

I picked up on digger because I do genealogy research. I had cl left over. So I started plugging in other letters. Clon, clyn, clen did not work but clan digger did. I related “digging” sand with digging for roots. Genealogy research takes “digging” through government documents.

Took me awhile too, I get “CLAN DIGGER”
