Cryptoquote Spoiler – 12/30/09

We all want to be famous people, and the moment we want to be something we are no longer free.”   — Jiddu Krishnamurti

(Would it be possible – and practical – to teach our children a variety of philosophies before we try to cram their little heads with “facts” and figures and dogmatic prejudices?  An approach such as this may go further in ensuring that no child is left behind.) —   YUR

    Hey Uncle!

    Where’s the answer ???

You were the only one to reply, Judy! I think the answer should be: YES! But of course, our society doesn’t REALLY want to be that open. Little bricks in the wall . . . nice and uniform . . . thinking the way they were taught to think. This kind of majority is less likely to question authority.

    Hi Uncle,

True wisdom cannot develop too soon. Children are certainly capable at a very young age of learning how to reason when raised by a parent or parents that are capable of raising the questions and stimulating growth in an easy and natural manner.

The idea that there may be many different ways of approaching the same problem can be a cornerstone for an open mind as a child develops. so yes, I agree with you.

The search for enlightenment should stimulate a joyful and eager attitude toward learning for children with a payload of satisfaction for it’s sake alone. such an approach leaves no child behind.

(Looks like I spoke a little too soon, Judy.) Thank you, JoAnn, for adding an element of flair to my rant. Some of our charter schools provide for some hope, but the majority of our public – and a lot of our private – schools seem more than happy to produce cookie cutter kids. They make for a more controllable citizenry.
