You consider “KAPOK” an ordinary word? Ordinary to me is a word used in everyday conversation.

I think just about any word that is not some weird scientific kinda word (like the chemical/preservative additives in food) is considered “ordinary”. For people who work in furniture companies, or upholstery places, or mattress factories, and pillow factories the word “kapok” is more than ordinary. (It’s definitely not a *common* word, though.)
