Visual Description: “Who let the dogs out?!?!”
GURYB = RUGBY, NEKTL = KNELT, SCANIO = CASINO, SIBOPH = BISHOP — Giving us: RGKLTANBIO
Clue/Question: The dogs in the cars were creating a . . .
Answer: “BARKING“ LOT
(Very cute. Great clue word jumbling today! I thought that “rugby” would be a new addition to the ralis95 clue word database, but it was already there. For a five letter word it was fairly tough.. “Knelt” was much easier. I thought that “bishop” was fairly difficult, but I really had a tough time with “casino”. I wrote out about 10 combinations, then I lost my patience and decided to back into it. Even knowing I needed the A and the N didn’t help right away. When it finally did dawn on me I was sure that this was a word that had stumped me once before. But, according to the ralis95 database, it’s a new word! So, what do I know? The answer letter layout was great. No giveaways. And, a great cartoon. Is that supposed to be Hoyt, or just a generic bald dude? Be well and do good, friends.) — YUR
PS. Sometimes Zemanta seems to have a mind of its own! I have absolutely no idea why it generated so many pictures of comets. Nothing I wrote has anything to do with space, at all. Oh, well. I do think this is a cool picture! — YUR

Cute cartoon and pretty easy to figure out! I had the very same problem you did with “casino” … tried backing into it, ran out of patience and thought I’d just wait and see what you posted as the answer. Good one!
Good Morning
Casino was a hard word, I finally had to go online and use the app to unscramble words. Backing in didn’t even help! Great carton puzzle answer – loved it.

I feel vindicated by Gwen and Tiny GMa! I really feel like we’ve seen the word before, and it gave me trouble then as well. Maybe it was a Sunday Jumble and I didn’t relay it as new to ralis95. I don’t know.
It’s funny, because of the three vices I always associated with organized crime, gambling is the one I, personally, have the most trouble accepting. I can rationalize legalizing (and regulating and taxing) both (not all, but many) drugs AND prostitution, but gambling is worse, in my mind. It’s kind of ironic, because there is more and more legalized gambling in this country, and around the world. I’m not above participating in an office pool, or a penny ante poker game, or playing the occasional lottery, but the proliferation of casino gambling is very disturbing to me. To a certain extent, even lotteries and the other mentioned kinds of gambling have gotten out of control. When I was a kid the states got by without all this lottery nonsense. Card games were for match sticks, poker chips, jelly beans, cookies, M&Ms, etc.. And, no one cared about point spreads. I think all this legalized gambling has had a very negative effect on our national/collective psyche. Even Wall St. USED to be more about building value. There was always a certain amount of risk there, but now there’s MUCH more speculation, and you feel like you’re dealing with unsavory card sharks, in what is most likely a rigged game. I can see a pretty strong parallel with the increase of legalized gambling and the general deregulation that had/has been taking place since the 1980s. Look where we are now. Oh, don’t get me started!

PS. I have also been to some casinos, but I’ve always stuck to simple stuff like slots, and occasionally the wheel. But, I never played (and lost) more than $30 – $40 bucks. I know how to play Black Jack and Poker and Craps and such, but never felt compelled to play for money. I see/know so many people, who claim to be in control of themselves when they gamble, but more times than not they lose. They always say that they’re paying for the thrill, with the chance of a big payoff, but I just see the big potential for devastation. — YUR
PPS. When I went, on a two day side trip, to Las Vegas, Spring 2011, I didn’t even bet a single nickel. I just took in a show, the sights and a buffet or two. — YUR
I had a tough time with bishop, casino, and knelt! And the puzzle was making no sense until I realized I had transposed letter in bishop — which gave me a wrong clue letter for the puzzle. But, I got it….good puzzle. I do enjoy all of them!
I know, I’m posting all out of order Unc.
