Adolescence represents an inner emotional upheaval, a struggle between the eternal human wish to cling to the past and the equally powerful wish to get on with the future. (Louise J. Kaplan) (Photo credit: Foto_di_Signorina)
“Children, even infants, are capable of sympathy. But only after adolescence are we capable of compassion.“ — Louise J. Kaplan
(I’m not sure if I agree with this. It seems like a bit of a generalization. Surely some children are capable of compassion. And, what about “adults” who seem to have no compassion? Are they infantile in their thinking, or somehow have they never really fully progressed from the adolescent mind-set? Hmm! Any opinions on this? Be well and do good . . . children.) — YUR
