Visual Description: Pudgy iron pumpers and pedal pushers left in the lurch.
CHAWT = WATCH, NDRIG = GRIND, BUTARP = ABRUPT, NISETV = INVEST — Giving us: WAGIATIN
Clue/Question: When they were late opening the gym, it resulted in this.
Answer: “WAIT“ GAIN
(Look at Hoyt, using “abrupt” twice in the same week! Trying to be all sneaky an’ she-it! As long as the jumbling was different – and it was – it’s all good. No new clue words, today . . . again. I guess David L is giving ralis95 some time off. None of the clue words were all that difficult. The answer letter layout was good, and the answer made for a good pun.
How many of you guys are going to run out and sign up for a membership to “Sweatie’s Gym”? Huh? Not many. I know the boys are trying to expand their Jumble empire, but I don’t think “Sweatie’s” is going to add much to their bottom line. Maybe they should work on something called “Jumble Gyms”, where you have to perform certain exercises/physical activities to get individual elements of a Jumble, and/or other word game. Each jumbled clue word would require the completion of a specific task, determined either by a trainer, or the individual exerciser – once he/she reaches a certain level – before advancing to the next activity and jumbled clue word, culminating with viewing the cartoon and clue/question. Most gyms have a variety of monitors linked to various exercise machines already, so it would take incorporating some fairly simple computer programs to make it work. It would be a great way to work both the body and the mind. Of course the name would be a play on the words jungle gym, the structures that kids climb on, and also the old Johnny Weissmuller character, Jungle Jim, from his post-Tarzan years. How ’bout it, Jeff and David? Just have your girl call my girl and we’ll work out all the details. Be well . . . be fit and do good, friends.) — YUR
