(Sorry about the delay on this one. Had an early PT session, then came just in time to check my email. Had to run to pay my son’s state tax, go to the bank, and attend a tax day anti-war demonstration. How do you like dem apples, Lt. Col.?!?! First three clue words were cake! But, I had to solve the Jumble and work backwards to get that fourth clue word. “Neuron” was a toughie! Add it to the DB, ralis95? Scrambling was good. Great cartoon! Like the little shout out to George Romero. Sort of a “bonus clue”, but not really. It didn’t effect getting the answer. Be well, do good . . . everyone.) — YUR

Yes, NEURON was a good one. Haven’t seen it before. I, like you, solved the puzzle from the visual clues then backed into neuron. Nice to have all these new words to keep us on our toes, eh?

Yeah, ralis95. Kind of a borderline call on neuron being a scientific term, but I’d say it’s common *enough*. I’m sure that someone out there is upset over it. They’ll just have to get over it.

I had to look away for about a minute and then look at RNNUEO again. I got it, but probably only because my undergraduate major was Cell Biology & Neuroscience with Microbiology, so I am very used to seeing that word. It probably helped that we discussed neurons in my grad school class this morning right before I tried the Jumble. Coincidences are crazy!
They certainly are, Amy. I’ve got a good one to relate, regarding my vacation last month. I’ll get to it a little later.

I also had to work backwards from the solution to get NEURON, and JADED made me crazy! I got the solution before I even started the puzzle, and the entire time I worked on it, I kept thinking of horror movies that I loved as a kid! Creature From the Black Lagoon, Night of the Living Dead, and the sci fi original War of the Worlds scared me to death!
